ROTE SURF COMPETITION 2016 IN VIDEO

"This events are primordial to make the surfers as ambassadors of tourism through surfing."

 

The Rote Island Local Competition started on 10 of June with perfect 3 feet waves with the category Open held in Besialu Reef at "Nembrala, West Rote, East Nusa Tenggara. Local surfer Ady Lenggu went on to become the best in the category of Local Open and successfully beat the other surf competitors. Adi scored 10,32 points (in possible 20) on the final and got the reward of Rp 10,000,000. Runner up was Mus Ely with a score of 9,43 and got the reward of Rp 8,000,000. In third place was Baron Mboroh with a score of 7,72 and got the reward of Rp 6,000,000, finally the fourth position was achieved by Papy Killi with the score 7,33 points and got the reward of Rp 4,000,000.

The Under 16 category was won by Revon Lenggu with the score of 8,16 and got the reward of Rp 5,000,000. David Killi second place with a score of 7,36 got the reward of Rp 4,000,000. The third position with a score of 6,42 was Nabas Killi and got the reward of Rp 3,000,000. Papy Killi with a score of 2.86  got the reward of Rp 2,000,000 to the fourth position.

In the Soul Surfer division, the winner was Daniel lonnor that got the reward of Rp 4,000,000. Second place David John got the reward of Rp 3,000,000. Third place was Gemala Hanafia, got a reward of Rp 2,000,000 and Michael got the reward of Rp 1.000.000 on the fourth position. Indonesia Surf Icon and and Jakarta Surf Star, Gemala Hanafia, comented to the media, that the wave conditions were excellent for all kind of competitions.

Rote Island Surf Contest was judged by a jury of the Asian Surfing Championships, (ASC) among Tipi Jabrik, Made Arya Lapur, Aria Subiakto. Meanwhile, the main organizer Erasmus Frans, explained that this is not a regular competition,  but a prime one with the support of the Government of Rote for local contests. Surfing it's very positive influence for young people, they are in the area of ​​tourism as well as tourist guides, he said. Erasmus added,... Rote Government hopes other competition events come to Rote Island, as this Rote Surf Contest will be held again in 2017. This events are primordial to make the surfers as ambassadors of tourism through surfing.
