Rip Curl Padang Cup can start next weekend

Big swell will hit Bali and the action could start soon.


The 2015 edition of Rip Curl Padang Cup can start next weekend. 


According to the surf forecast that Pemburu Ombak had access, the swell size and wave period will start to increase significally next saturday, 22nd August.

 

However, Sunday will be the day that this famous competition probabily can start. The swell forecast indicates higher waves on 23rd  and 24th August.

 

So pay attention and head Bali because even if Padang Cup doesn’t start, for sure all the best surfers will be around to catch Bali magnificent waves.

 

The eyes of the surfing world will be focussed on Bali’s famous Bukit Peninsula to see if the elite list of invited barrel riders can add their names to an honour roll that includes everyone from Pipe Master Jamie O’Brien to two-time local victors Lee Wilson and Made “Bol” Adi Putra.

 

In 2015 the field will consist of 16 surfers; made up of eight internationals and eight locals. The eight international surfers will come from Rip Curl riders Tom Curren, Bruno Santos, Mason Ho, Tim Bisso, Pat Curren and Jacob Wilcox, and their ranks will be bolstered by powerhouse invitees Jamie O’Brien, Damien Hobgood, Jay Davies, Ry Craike and Chris Ward.

 

The home team stars Garut Widiarta, Mega Semadhi, Lee Wilson, Rizal Tanjung, Made “Bol” Adi Putra and Raditya Rondi.
